What Type of Bumper Cleaner do I need?

If you have a painted bumper, then our car shampoo is perfect.

Body Clean has fine bubbles to prevent any scratches, and the product comes in a small bottle of concentrated liquid, so you can wash many cars before you need to buy more.

Body Clean is pH neutral, so will not stain or degrade the paint on your car in any way.

As with most of our cleaning products, we recommend that you thoroughly wash the car with a strong jet of water, to remove any surface dirt that may be adhering to the car. Body Clean is suitable for use on all painted portions of your car.

If you have metal parts to your bumpers, then it is important that you use our Metal Plating Polish. This two-step system will revive the original shine, remove water spots and is perfect for use on cloudy window frames. When using the polishing cloths provided and following the instructions carefully, the Metal Plating Polish will restore your metal with no damage or scratches.

For unpainted bumpers, we have devised a special product called Rubbing Strips Clean. This is made without any strong solvents and is pH neutral – making it ideal for use on unpainted plastic. When used in association with the special sponge, the ultra-fine fibres will rub off wax and/or dirt with ease, leaving your unpainted bumpers clean and fresh. We do not recommend that you use this product on door visors, taillights or headlights, however.

That Special Finish

Once you have got your bumpers clean, you will want to apply a layer of protection that also gives your car that ‘just-washed’ look all the time.

Our Glass Coating has been specially formulated from silicone to provide a hard, transparent coating that is water and dirt repellent.

For areas such as bumpers, which might be more prone to accidental scratches or damage (not to mention a bug graveyard) the Glass Coating makes it tough for dirt to adhere – and provides a ‘sacrifice layer’ to protect the underlying paint. This means that the Glass Coating is strong (as hard as Quartz) and durable, protecting the paint from chemical damage (bird droppings and dead insects) as well as UV light, which obviously means that the paint will not fade.

Providing a layer of just-washed gloss, as well as unbeatable ongoing protection, the Glass Coating is an essential final step in making your bumpers shine like new.
